The Pelvic girdle (or the hip)
anatomy
The hip refers to the articulation between the pelvic bones and the femur. The hip has a very wide range of motion, however there are structural differences between the pelvic girdle and the hip girdle that prevent the hip from having the same range of motion as the shoulder, and to instead have greater stability.
bones of the hipThe pelvis consists of three separate bones that have fused together: the pubic, the ilium, and the ischium. The pelvis articulates with the femur to form the hip complex.

ligaments of the hipThe complexity of the hip requires careful coordination to prevent the pinching of any ligaments, tendons or nerves.
|
Hip Joint CapsuleThe articulation between the femur and the pelvic occurs where the head of the femur meets the acetabulum of the pelvis.
