Thigh and Knee
anatomy
The thigh contains one bone, the femur, which serves as the attachment point for muscles that contribute to a wide variety of leg movements including, but not limited to, hip flexion and extension, external and internal hip rotation, and knee flexion and extension.
Bones of the kneeThe knee joint is where the femur meets the bones of the lower limb, which are the tibia and fibula. The knee joint also includes the patella, otherwise known as the kneecap. These bones articulate together to allow for knee mobility and stability.
